This medium weight allover paisley pattern in pink and salmon flowers with a chocolate brown background was originally known as the pine, with its characterized tear drop shape and/or stylized plant form or stem it became very popular in Europe in the 1800's for the very wealthy. It was woven into scarves and shawls .
In the 60's and 70's paisley turned whacky and fun in wonderful bright colors and was used quite a bit in clothes and home decor. "It's my Paisley and I'll Wear it if I Want to" Schiffer Books.
